Where do you come from? North Weezy..!

Thank God it’s Friday! Happy Friday to you!

Oh, before I get into it, I have an announcement pending! So excited. πŸ™ŒπŸΎ So I need you to keep a mental note or better still, take out your phone, go to your calendar and leave a note for yourself (please). I will let you know all about it on Friday 1st December! It’s a new project I’m working on, exciting stuff!

Thank you for doing that. πŸ™‚ Right, now that’s out of the way, on to the blog post!

I know you’re wondering, Angel what’s with the blog title? Hold on my love, I’m about to tell you…

I grew up in North West London and the estate I lived within was well known for knife and gun crime, gang violence and shootings. An area that didn’t bring a pleasant aroma when mentioned. Having said that, there was a strong community spirit and genuine care about developing the area for local residences, providing facilities such as youth clubs for young people and improving the infrastructure of the estate. I was proud of where I grew up and felt as though I belonged to a something bigger than myself. Summer time was the most fun, as we really enjoyed water fights and bike riding! πŸ’¦πŸš΄πŸΎ

I remember when that song was first played ( my blog title is the name of a song btw) The whole of North West London was united, there was a kind of love which filtered through as there was something that all who lived within the NW10 postal code could connect to.

I used to have that song on repeat fam, Ghezzzz πŸ’ƒπŸ½ lol. I was around 15 I believe and totally in love with  it. I felt apart of the family, the estate and subsequently, the whole borough of North West London. After that song gradually died down and something new came up, every thing returned back to the way it was and the sense of belonging slowly withered away.

Where am I taking you away to? Stay with me.

Most of us want to be apart of something, to be recognized and appreciated for our efforts. And so, many a times, we involve ourselves in things which perhaps are not healthy for us or may get us into trouble. Just because a friend or family member says it’s good, it doesn’t mean it’s right. Feeling apart of something is far different to being part of it. Feelings are temporal, they go and fast as they came but when you know that what you stand for and believe in are at the forefront of every decision you make, then settling for something unworthy of you will become very difficult.

The soul of a man and woman always yearns for respect, attention and love and will search for it in many places. Whether that is in a song, the club or a relationship which is not going to last, but for the sake of ‘feeling’ loved and wanted, it continues. *sigh* The truth is, human beings are flawed. Two flawed individuals can not complete one another. #Ahardtruth.

Here comes the ice breaker… πŸ™‡πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Have you tried to direct your energy to someone else who is not limited by flaws, pride or broken promises? He is the only one who can provide real and lasting love. Love which is not conditional or temporal. You are guaranteed a place of acceptance and belonging, though undeserving of it! Try him, this relationship works. I’m referring to Jesus the Christ. When he is at the center of a relationship, friendship or ( fill in the blank) the flawed nature of man is immediately replaced by the infinite grace of God.😩

hmm…and now I know where I am accepted, appreciated and loved. Where do I come from? A heavenly kingdom in Christ my Lord. …and you can too.
