Right, about today’s post: Followers vs Impact
I have a few questions.
How many followers do you have? How may friends are you connected with on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram…? When you look around in comparison, do you feel uncomfortable because your followers are not enough?
We have created this false illusion that if a post on social media does not generate a certain amount of likes, attention or go viral then it’s not ‘worth’ the ❤️ or it must be missing something.
A large amount of followers does not necessarily mean that you are doing or uploading the right material. Neither does it automatically mean that you are appreciated are loved.
Can I be real?
Some of your followers are simply haters and trolls, they have only decided to follow you so they can spy and keep tabs on you. Yes, some of them are your friends 😱. They get off on talking about the new picture you uploaded and some won’t feel good if they haven’t left a bad comment…
Be careful.
You see, you should have the desire to leave your foot print in the sand, to create an impact. If you are able to influence or contribute positively to even 5 people’s lives, then you have done an incredible thing.
Impact is not measured by what you did, rather how you did it and the mark you left behind.
How do you impact?
Your impact is right inside you. It’s uniquely tied to you and you are the only one who can draw it out. Don’t be intimidated by what others are doing or how many ‘followers’ they have. Allow your gift to create room for you and be a blessing.
5000 followers alone doesn’t mean anything but being able to impact, effect and influence 5000 people is extremely credible.
Are you more interested in getting followers or do you want to contribute to something bigger than yourself?
