Unwrap the gift first

Good Evening,

Welcome to day 23 of my 31 day blog challenge.

It’s the festive season! A time to give thanks to God for the gift of salvation, family and God’s love.

It’s also a time for the sharing of gifts and presents. How exciting!πŸ’ƒπŸ½

When a gift is beautifully decorated, carefully wrapped and sealed with a bow, the first thing that comes to mind is: what could be inside? There is such an eagerness to unwrap it and see it’s content, why, because someone thought of going the extra mile to adorn it. It looks good to behold, therefore surely, the content must be outstanding right?

Right?

Well, this is how many of us think. We assume and judge the book by it’s cover. However, this is not always the case.

The most useful, credible and impactful things come in unexpected wrapping.

A gift which hasn’t been decorated, given much attention or recognition is usually the ones which are the most valuable.

You need to unwrap the gift first!

Some of the most influential people came from backgrounds wrapped in poverty, broken homes and lack of direction. Yet they didn’t allow societies stereotypes to keep them in a box. They transcended above the dull, thoughtless wrapping and became generational leaders.

Don’t let anyone look down and project their insecurities on you. The wrapping does not determine what is inside of you. Your potential is greater than the inexpensive wrapping paper someone has attempted to cover you in.

Allow your gift to be born and nurture it, despite the gift box you were placed in.
