KMT… what a waste of time! 🤬

Hello again,

I hope you are well and keeping safe.

Thank you so much for reading my last post, your feedback has been wonderful and I’m really happy that you enjoyed it 😊 If you missed it, you can catch up right here, don’t forget to leave your thoughts when you are through!

Ok, so I need to rant a little, please give me 30 seconds!

Have you ever consented to something that you thought would be worth your time? Something that you thought would be of value or perhaps entertain you? But unfortunately to your dismay, was a complete waste of your time?! 😑 Yep, you’re probably nodding… Well, I know the feeling. I wasted an hour and 38 minutes on a movie that added nothing to my life! Literally nothing. I just kept on hoping that the story line would get better or take a turn and it never did. Like, how did that film even make it to Netflix! Here is me thinking, it’s Sunday, let me relax and watch a show… Netflix just stole 1 hour and 38 minutes of my life that I will never get back. *screaming*! 😖

*Ok, rant over* let’s talk real life.

You see, this is what many of us do. We consent to, give our approval of or grant access to things, people, situations etc, knowing what we are entertaining is just a bad story line and when it all goes left or not how we expected, we complain or play the victim.

Now, I’m only referring to situations which you have consented to, knowing what you were getting yourself into. Situations, you have consciously involved yourself in, knowing the risks or possible outcome. Knowing that it probably won’t end well 🤦🏽‍♀️. You are grown, so I’m not going to start listing various scenarios. Perhaps you can reflect on some of your life experiences and I’m sure you can relate on more than one occasion.

The question then is: Did that experience leave you feeling broken, confused, lost, cheated or vulnerable and/or was a complete waste of precious time?

Here’s the hard truth…

It’s your responsibility to get yourself out of any situation that does not add any value to your life, compromises your faith or is messing around with your head – why? because you got yourself into it. I know, I here you saying, “Angel it’s easier said than done…” and I know it probably is but you need to at least make a start, get your hammer out and start chipping away at it. Being let down, feeling used or having your time wasted in any capacity is unpleasant. It’s wasted time you can’t get back, it’s an experience you can’t undo.

So, here is where you can start.

You need to tackle it head on. Go straight to to cause (if known) and address the issue. It’s hard, I know. The idea of thinking about it, leaves you angry not just at what happened but at yourself for giving it your attention in the first place. For allowing it to waste your time or possibly years you can’t relive. Man, that’s difficult. And so, if you need support or advice before attempting to address it, please speak to someone you trust. There is nothing worth taking or messing with your mental health. You may not receive a solution over night but you’ve got to start somewhere right?

KMT, what a waste of time! 🤬

There are valuable lessons hidden in every experience. Sometimes, you just need to sit back and re-evaluate. It may not be pretty or as you imagined it but it’s important that you are able to see where you went wrong, not only to rectify it but to ensure that you don’t repeat it again.

Do you know what? Maybe it wasn’t a complete waste of time but rather an indication of just how strong you are. It didn’t break you nor did it stop you, having said that, don’t push yourself to the limit. Please gather strength to address it once and for all then move on with your life.

As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Be encouraged.

The first step is to take one.
